A waiter in Paris
He arrived in Paris. From London. With no language and lots of love in his heart. For a woman in his life and French life he had no idea about. He started in a restaurant, as many foreigners do, arriving without any idea what they would do in the most romantic city in the world. And now he has a book about that, showing precisely why I do not like to go to bistros so beloved by tourists and what the French call l'institution. It is a good read about one part of French reality. Inspiring, tempting, easy to read and very true.

Little women
A classic that needs an introduction. Something every young and grownup woman should read, the same as Hemingway and Dickens. But why talk about that? Simply because I love this particular edition from Mac Millan Collectors library. Small and romantic, and fits perfectly in a handbag to read in a cafe.

At Christmas we feast
The book, written by historian Annie Gray, digs deep into British Christmas traditions, revealing the centuries-long evolution of the traditions that everyone associates with Christmas today, yet they have only been there for a short time. It is a travel through time, and one is almost present in the event, be it one or three centuries ago. Accompanied with some historic recipes, this book is a delight to read.

Adventures of Huckleberry Finn
Another classic to know by heart. One of those books that you forget stands on the shelf and should be taken out from time to time just to relive that childhood joy and adventure. This edition from SeaWolf Press is one of those I like very much.
