#LindexPink

It was September 2019 when we drove through the oak valley with sea in front of us. I could not see it, but I knew it was there. The sun was shining with the highest volume on. We unpacked the things, storing fresh produce in the fridge, and headed straight to sea for a walk. As late afternoon approached, the daylight started to dim down. We walked and walked, imagining to be alone. It was a day before the event I had to make for #LindexPink campaign. We got home to prepare. My friend, the queen of balloon decorations, was filling up balloons with air so that they could fly over that beautifully set table. I was preparing and cutting.

The time for dinner came. It was silent; the fire was burning, jazz somewhere playing, and we had dinner. It was a day before the storm when the girls would arrive to enjoy the food I have prepared, admiring the balloons flying tied in satin ribbons. The day came, and it felt so unique. And it was, as it was a special event with a good cause (campaign for treating cancer). Never mind that I forgot eggs for my cake, and after searching for them around the village, too happy to have them, I forgot to put whipping cream in the cake. The cake tasted good, though, as did poached pears with cheese, nutty haricots, and silky hummus. The sun was with us spoiling every instant of the day, and it was all we needed—a good cause and beautiful weather.
