Week 28
If no one had to work, I think we'd all either be in our swimming suits by the pool, the sea, or the lake, or leaving that one hat on, as Mr Cocker sings, as life just gets hotter here.
The weather forecast app is the most looked at. Dresses and shorts are the most worn (next week in Paris they're saying it'll be 27°C and rain, and God only knows how happy that makes me. The trousers and a light jumper have already been packed, not knowing what a joy it'll be to put them on). The salad spinner is doing all the hard work, washing salads that feed everyone, while that poor oven feels left out of the cooking. Suddenly, all one needs is a slice of bread with salted butter for breakfast and ice cream for lunch. That’s it. Ah, yes, chilled wine for dinner.
At least the mornings are still magical at 6.30, when the air feels fresh and the sun shines differently. And, as in that one reel I shared, the clothes are "cooked" in three seconds out in the sun 😂
Otherwise, a very good week. Magical, tasty, spiritually beautiful, fresh (thanks to chilled wine), and quite romantic (thanks to Jane Austen), with those incredibly beautiful skies that nature graciously offers us almost every day now.
