lyon. week 30

From being called princesse at the flower market to spending Sunday chatting with friends and holding my little tiny baby girl, this week has been... this week has been intense, but cool enough to handle the intensity, as the weather has been very generous to us before the next heatwave comes.

And Lyon has offered me not only the beautiful feeling of being at home, but also quite a lot of great tastes. One of them being the Roule Tropezienne ice cream version filled with fleur d’oranger and Brazilian vanilla ice cream, available now at the Fresco ice cream shop (in collaboration with Pralus Boulangerie).

Then there's a new baby in town, Café Peinard in the 6th, which offers not only a nice environment but also great coffee. There's always Pralus Boulangerie, with one of the most amazing sourdough breads in Lyon at this point. And then, of course, the beautiful and always impeccable Alain Ducasse chocolate shop.

And I finally got to visit Cave Daniel et Denise with its small but beautiful wine selection. This place is an icon in Lyon.

And yes... the sunflowers are coming into season, pêches de vigne are still in season but are almost gone, and people have left the city, so it's much calmer and more relaxed, which is just perfect if you want to enjoy a slightly different feeling and taste of this beautiful city.

It's been a journey this week. And lots of new recipes: flan with black vanilla tea, rose and cardamom; sablé normand with fleur d'oranger and rose; and also cookies with coffee, dark chocolate and walnuts. I hope you had a beautiful week as well, and that the next one will be even better.
