Domaine Huet Petillant Brut

War veteran and one-time mayor of Vouvray, Gaston Huet was in charge of his winery (inherited from his father Victor) from 1947 until he died in 2002. He managed the estate together with his wife and son-in-law Noël Pinguet, producing remarkable wines on 80ha of land from Chenin blanc grapes. In this bottle, the grapes come from the Le Haut-Lieu, Le Mont, and Clos du Bourg vineyards. Noël Pinguet, long-standing wine director after his father-in-law’s death, was the second significant winemaker to turn to biodynamic winemaking, believing that they would have to do it sooner or later. Crisp, a bit rustic with hints of apples and honey notes. A Vouvray to turn to whenever I want one.
