Tips and tricks in Milan
- Be aware, that Milan is a city of contrast – there are splendid buildings that represent everything that you think about Milan, and then there are ugly leftovers from the war.
You have to visit Brera - the real old town of Milan. With it's magnificent small streets, design shops, and Pinacoteca di Brera museum, it is a must.
Of course, there would be no visit to Milan without visiting Duomo, with it's stunning views from the rooftop (just remember that you need to get up early to get up high – otherwise standing in line will be your reality)
One of the most spectacular views of Duomo is from across the way at the Museo del Novecento top floor. Most memorable view I had in Milan.
Parco Sempione – beautiful.
On your way to Pavè and Flower Burger, there will be Giardini Pubblici Indro Montanelli.
Bio c’ Bon – if you, like me, are looking for organic food everywhere you go.
If you want espresso, ask for caffè. If you are looking for something longer but still strong – ask for caffè lungo. Macchiato – espresso with tiny bit of milk foam. These three are the most popular among the locals. And never ask for cappuccino after 12:00.
Be careful crossing the street – even the police sometimes choose to “not see” the zebra. Checked.
Remember – restaurants work from 12:00‒15:00 (+/‒) and from 19.00‒23.00. In the meanwhile, it’s siesta time.
