Lanka. Good Indian food
We had a food delivery in December and finished every bit of it — it was tasty. But then we went to the restaurant itself, and that was another story, as nothing compares to having a freshly made naan or buttery lamb straight out of the oven, prepared by the loving hands of a mother and father for their children to serve right away.
When I told my friend we were going to Lanka, she — with her Korean birth certificate and experience of living in Australia and many Asian countries — told me it’s the best Indian restaurant in Lyon. And I do agree. That naan, filled with creamy cheese, had both character and softness (just like I remember from India). The samosa was perfectly crunchy on the outside and juicy on the inside, filled with vegetables. And that buttery lamb was perfection in both texture and taste — a bit of sourness from the tamarind, creaminess from the butter, and texture from the lamb itself.
Then came the most interesting part — dessert. Both were filled with Indian spices, generous sweetness, and vibrant colours.
