Turtle
““Turtle is everything we love and want for breakfast. We love creating simple, clean products that taste amazing.””
It came as a shock to me that a brand like this—so beautiful, clean, and tasty—had been completely unknown to me until last year, when I stumbled upon it on my way to a hike in the Alps. In Annecy. The first things I tasted from them were the dark chocolate-covered cornflakes and marshmallow crunchies. Well, they weren’t really for me—more for the girls—but I must admit I was the one who, day by day, finished that box of chocolate cornflakes while the girls were too busy eating the marshmallow crunchies.
Eating both, there was one thing that really caught my attention: although considered sweet, they weren’t overly sweet. The generous dark chocolate was perfectly balanced, and the lightly sweet crunchies played nicely with the tiny and so adorable marshmallows (I stole a few of those too, during some breakfasts).
As it turns out, Turtle has been around since 2014, and it's a real shame that the whole world does not know about them, because this is the best version of a crunchy breakfast anyone could wish for. From cocoa pillows and puffed spelt to coco rice crispies and honey balls—they might seem sweet, but they’re not, or at least not as sweet as others on the market, making them all the more delicious.
I only wish I’d known about them when the girls were little—that was the one thing they’d reliably eat for breakfast, and I had to go through wind and fire trying to find the best version.
As with many thoughtful brands, it all started with the realisation that, when a baby is on the way, you truly want to give them the best in every aspect—but it’s so hard to find anything that feels right. From porridges, which were the "starters" of this beautiful company, to the fun designs, granolas, and now cereals, Turtle feeds hundreds of thousands of people every month.
And now, we’re on that list too—for good.
