Michel Cluizel
The shop on Rue Saint-Honoré has stood there for 38 years. Yes, you read that correctly — 38 beautiful years. And as this was their first Parisian boutique, it was also the first of their shops I visited, almost 10 years ago, with the girls. Since I was writing about them for a magazine, we were treated like queens — indulging in chocolate doses sufficient enough to keep us going for a week. And some gifted to keep us going for a week longer after that.
That was the day I fell in love — not only with their truffles, but even more so with their oursons (marshmallow bears coated in chocolate) and their one-of-a-kind champignons (caramel-filled chocolate mushrooms). A MUST for caramel lovers.
So naturally, it made perfect sense to treat my Paris tour ladies to a little tasting (of those mushrooms and oursons, of course), as nothing compares to my love for the @cluizelparis family (the company is still family) owned — and their incredible creations.
