Fish Corner. Riga
There are plenty of chefs in Latvia I admire, but there are a few whose food I simply cannot refuse — and Arturs Taskans’ cooking is one of them.
So, we simply had to have dinner at Fish Corner on a street where I’ve lived and spent some truly wonderful moments: Gertrudes Street. It’s not at all in the epicentre of Riga’s restaurant culture or quarters, but it’s worth every extra step.
Fish Corner is almost entirely about fish (though there are some meat dishes too), focusing on either reinvented Latvian recipes or local fish brought back into the spotlight. For that, I love this place even more. From herring, sprat, cod to the crunchiest, most moist ceburek with pike, and an indulgent chocolate tart with caramel.
