Le Bistrot d’Abel

The little brother of one of the oldest places in Lyon, i.e. Le Café Comptoir ABEL. This place holds a dear place in my heart, and almost every person coming to visit us in Lyon ends up here at the dinner table, as this place, in a way so traditional, has managed to be modern too. Maybe not in terms of the interior (although too), but more on the food side, turning the very heavy Lyonnaise cuisine into a much lighter version without losing the taste of what it should be. The best and my preferred salad, Lyonnaise, is here, as is the most succulent veal liver served with a sauce and purée. For meat lovers, pâté en croûte is something to indulge in, as is steak and chicken. And yes, do leave some place for the dessert, as every single one of them is pure perfection times two. If you cannot choose, Paris-Brest is the place to start.
